Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence based treatment used to alleviate distress from traumatic memories. EMDR helps the brain to reprocess traumatic information using bilateral stimulation (such as eye movement, sounds, and tapping) while focusing on the memory and reducing its emotional charge. Its primary use if for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, but individuals with other mental health conditions may also benefit.
