Emily McCollister, MSW, LSW

Emily McCollister is a licensed social worker. Emily is a graduate of Shippensburg University, she has both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in social work from “Ship”. She has over 8 years of experience working in the field as a social worker. Emily has worked at Johns Hopkins Community Psychiatry Program assisting young adults with Schizophrenia; to help them meet their goals and return to school/work and spent many years working with the child welfare system. She is most passionate about working with folks who are experiencing anxiety, phobias, OCD, social anxiety, depression, body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), eating issues/body image, relationship issues, social skills, autism, and ADHD. Emily has completed training in Exposure & Response Prevention and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. Emily is currently working on her clinical license and being supervised by Shannon Weise, MSW, LCSW.

Emily believes we are on this journey of life, together and through intentional therapeutic collaboration coupled with evidence-based practices, healing is possible. Emily’s practice infuses kindness and compassion by using an empathetic and trauma-informed approach. She recognizes the value of active listening and providing a non-judgmental attitude. She would be honored to support you on your path towards living as your most authentic self.

Aside from being a therapist, Emily is a passionate advocate for those with OCD. Emily’s interests include mindfulness, gratitude practice, holistic health and the outdoors.
